Weather Update (July 1521): Heavy Rainfall Likely Across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Several Other States
The southwest monsoon remains active across the country, and according to BKC Aggregators, rainfall activity is expected to intensify further in the coming days. A cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining southern Bangladesh is likely to give rise to a low-pressure area over the north Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. Under its influence, widespread rainfall is expected across several parts of eastern, central, and northern India. Between July 15 and 21, many areas of East and West Rajasthan, East and West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Delhi are likely to receive rainfall. Rainfall activity is also expected to continue over East and West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. According to the BKC Aggregators, widespread and heavy rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh between July 18 and 21. From July 16 to 18, East and West Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 4050 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h. Similarly, between July 14 and 18, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh may witness thunderstorms, lightning, and intermittent rainfall at several locations. BKC Aggregators advises farmers in areas expecting heavy rainfall to ensure proper drainage in their fields to prevent waterlogging. Farmers are also advised to postpone the application of fertilizers and pesticides during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds to minimize potential crop damage.
