Increased Demand from Flour Mills Boosts Wheat Prices in Delhi, Daily Arrivals Drop
Wheat prices in Delhi saw an increase due to higher demand from flour mills, while daily arrivals recorded a decline. The central government plans to allocate 3 million tonnes of wheat under the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS), although the exact dates for allocation are yet to be finalized. Recently, the government had reduced the stock limit on wheat. Despite bumper stocks in the central pool, the government has maintained a stock limit until March 31, 2026, to prevent excessive price rise. On Lawrence Road, wheat prices rose by ₹10, moving from ₹2,815 to ₹2,820 per quintal. Demand for wheat products is expected to remain strong due to the consumption season. Daily wheat arrivals stood at 5,000 bags, down from 9,000 bags recorded in the previous trading session.
